They grow so fast, they grow so fast, they grow so fucking fast
It’s Lucia Day and I made no treats, lit no candles, had no quiet moments. But what I did do was make sweet theater with 42 bright sweethearts. My heart is full and I’m reminded- there are many ways to be light amidst the darkness. ️ #StagingJourneys #wethemoments
Third child means naps happen on the go. And sometimes I feel kind of bad about that. And yet, you thrive, running with the big kids, having more than me as a teacher. And I tell myself that somehow your personality will make good use of this sleep anywhere skill.
Today was our first play rehearsal that is actually IN the space where we will perform. Here we are outside, waiting to begin. It felt so good to be in the theater, it always does. And yet, it reminds me how very much work we have to do. Let’s go. Child of mine, thank you for taking your naps on the go.
@idalmitass I found you in Denver!
I worked with Ida last Spring on Bienvenidos Blancos. Imagine my surprise when I found her saying profound things in a Science Museum exhibit in Denver. Small world.
Stay Engaged is first agreement of T.O. as presented at Philly workshops.
Stay engaged helps me to check myself on the ways that I sometimes tune out or withdraw myself when something gets difficult, uncomfortable, or boring. As I become more aware of this, I also find myself accidentally returning to the mental to-do lists and tasks with the speed that one flips from social media post to post to post.
If one needs to break any of the other agreements in order to keep this one, keep this one.
