Ouch, it’s been awhile. To my friends who sent emails and messages (and those who just wondered) everything is okay. Thanks for checking! So it looks like my posts have been spotty (at best) for a couple months now, which calls for an October in Review. Sans pictures, because our card reader got lost along the way.
- ArtPrize! This was a lot of fun and meant many visitors who stayed with us and joined us on the adventure.
- Riana is attending a 2-morning Montessori program. (More on that soon but Amelia cries to go along!)
- Ryan replaced the suspension on our car (hence the above picture as I was tightening bolts).
- We took a trip to Philadelphia, visited with many friends, and stayed with my sister. So much fun!
- Then we continued on to Washington DC, coordinated out visit with family, stayed with Ryan’s sister, saw friends and museums, and managed to catch the Rally to Restore Sanity (and or Fear). It was pretty crazy!
- I’m sure that there were plenty of other things filling in the month, but there are a few highlights anyway. We’re good, a new card reader is ordered, and we’re finishing fall things around the house.
Quotable Sunday: catch that train

When love comes to town I’m gonna catch that train
When love comes to town I’m gonna catch that flame
Maybe I was wrong to ever let you down
But I did what I did before love came to town.
- U2 with B.B. King, When Love Comes to Town
Love certainly came to town…but I never really followed up on the fabulous Chicago trip we took two weekends ago. I have been floating around a little more lightly after the U2 extravaganza. The songs have been hummed through many an hour otherwise spent painting, sanding, etc. <sigh> the lyrics! the showmanship! the music! the talent! I was afraid that I would regret spending so much money for two nights of wonderful, but I don’t!
So it’s not too late to get a little nostalgic, right? When I found these train riding pictures, I knew I wanted to put them with the lyrics that come from my favorite U2 album. How could I not? The girls also had a lot of fun riding the CTA trains. It’s much more fun to be above ground, whereas the Philly line we usually used is pure subway. Oh! I would be scolded if I failed to mention that we also had a lot of fun with the family members and friends who we got to visit. We were fed, they played with our children, we slept, we relaxed…all the good marks of a weekend away. Riana got to swim in Lake Michigan with her Arizona Grandpas…My Aunt even sent me home with clean laundry. Great times, thanks for loving us and spoiling us.
Okay, back to the finishing up the house train for me (yes, there will be room-by-room pictures eventually). After today we will have kitchen floors and a bathroom door in place. Happy Sunday to you, wherever today’s train takes you. :)
Hello world!
It is far past turning in time. Much thanks to our resident-everything-computer-handyman-papa for getting this party started. Ode to having tried a number of ways to collect and record my thoughts/musings/inspirations/to-do lists/etc. Every journal, jot pad, blog, and nearly every letter gets left in some sort of lonely unforgotten pile of things left undone. Here’s to hoping that this time is different. What is the point of this space? I honestly don’t entirely know. I am accustomed to taking on all most endeavors with mid and end goals in mind. But I’m at a place in my life, where I don’t know what’s next… I don’t know what is around the corner or even down the hall… so it is my hope that maybe this space will chronicle my coming up to this point, my attempt to determine where :::this::: all leads… But the question I shall sleep on tonight: do I double space or single space this? Sweet dreams, world!
