“The world is wide, and I will not waste my life in friction when it could be turned into momentum.” -Frances Willard

Join us for Quotable Sunday. In a tradition started by Kyrie of Are So Happy and carried on with Kerry of Young Ones and Linnea of PeppermintAlley, we invite you to post a quote on your site. Quotations can be old favorites or new inspiration…funny or sentimental…famous or personal…just give credit (where credit is due) and have fun. Thank you for joining our Sunday rhythm.
How do you join us?
After you have made a post, link it via comments to the hostess’s Sunday post. Be sure to link back to this post so your friends can also contribute. You can also join our flickr group and add your weekly contribution there. Thanks to Kerry for hosting in December. Kyrie is hosting for January, and I’ll host again in February. (Don’t worry, we’ll link it all up so you know where to go and add your contribution!)

Growth spurts, even on the road. Mia was close to filling her big sister’s old shoes! But their preferences are oh so different.

BICAS is a well-known flagship of bike co-ops in the southwest. We had the chance to stop and see their fabulous bike and bike-art program in action. Unexpectedly, we were also able to meet a stencil artist (his work is outside BICAS as well as in other areas around town) so hopefully he’ll be leaving a mark on our bus this week too…

In Phoenix, we sometimes drive past cotton fields.
I often wondered what the cotton actually felt like… would it be as refined as a cotton ball? would it be completely different? what did the plant look like up close? what would it be like to pick cotton?
In our evolving style of travel, the second golden rule is to stop. if you can say yes to a stop, then make the u-turn and stop.
So we did.
I won’t answer my own questions about cotton right here.
But if ever you find a cotton field (or palm or pineapple or anything that makes you wonder) remember the second golden rule.
